Scanners... well, my VERY FIRST experience with a scanner went extremely well; it was very simple. However, as technology develops I find myself comparing a scanner to a fax machine. Having an event to arise when you actually need to use a scanner seems to be decreasing. Before digital cameras and photographs, a person would scan pictures into the computer. Now, you simply plug in a cord. Obviously there are still some instances when scanners and fax machines are useful, but I don't think they will be around for long.
I enjoyed working in photoshop. I have used it a little for editing and rotating photos on the computer, but that is it. If I can figure out how to attach a photo to this blog, I will... Basically, I can follow directions quickly, so I sped through class on Thursday.
I see how it is useful to learn to do these things for developing a webpage, but I am not sure if the time would be available to allow my students to do something using scanners (not that there are any in my school) or photoshop. Perhaps as the computer or business teacher, but not as a World Geography teacher(?)...

Well, as you can see I figured out how to post a photo. This was the "you may now kiss the bride" kiss at our wedding. We were married on a beach in Hawaii two years ago. I had fun photoshopping this picture just for fun.

Alease, Thanks for responding! I do see the value in fax machines, I use one about 6 times a year. I guess the whole scanner thing can be valuable, but it almost seems too late in the game to start(?).

Great picture! Yes, I showed you photoshop mostly as a teacher tool. Also, I wanted you to get a feeling for "size" both file size and physical image size. Some times people don't understand why their pictures look bad when they make them bigger for their webpage. It has a lot to do with the quality and original size.
